Mine are just right, but then they are standard L/C springs, still get the lift and my spin is still intact. No need for the aftermarket seats either.

well sometimes too much recoil can be a bad thing so in that respect, yes it will help in certain situations whilst off roading.

    and yes that is.

i dont mind it being too stiff as it will be better when i take it offroading....i just wanted to check that this was normal and that i hadnt broken something.
its only speed bumps that are a pain when i got no load in the truck. its like A skitzophrenic horse with two broken legs trying to jump a hurdle!......that also thinks he's a rabbit

I meant the other bloke. He won't turn up you know, probably hasn't even got a Surf. Or he will turn up and he'll be in Maplins looking through the window at you wandering around looking for a black 3rd gen.
Well vince you were wrong, he did turn up, in a black surf, with AT2's in the boot "nice truck by the way".

    The verdict.

After alot of measuring & checking various aspects of the whole wheel arch we have come to the conclusion that "post 16, vince" was the problem.

It appears to be pushed back about 10/15mm.

So vince, feel free to pull your shirt over your head & run around the garden shouting "CHAMPIONEY, CHAMPIONEY.

Hopefully with a tweek here & there they should fit fine.

I was thinking about chassis/body alignment too, but the last time I mentioned something outlandish my Nemesis' nearly drowned me in their replies!

Anyway, all the measurements match and the only issue seems to be the bumper. That said, the OP is a bit vague about where and when the tyres are rubbing.
