Interior Revamp Question.

Hi All,

I have the standard grey cloth interior in my surf & I'd like to do something with it. My question is this:
Has anyone out there fitted seats from another vehicle & if so what?
I'd like to consider a leather option but I'm open to all sensible suggestions! (I know how you guys love to tease!)
Am I missing something obvious to enhance the interior seating & maybe the door cards as well?
I look forward to reading your replies, I think!?!

Only "alterations" to the inside is the recaro option, a good set form a breakers is like rocking horse $hit tho, haveing the seats/cards you got redone in leather will cost more than the trucks worth i'd guess,

i enquired ages ago about getting my surf fully re-trimmed in leather including the dash () and i got prices from £2500 - £5000!!!
i then tried to find a auto-trimming course but could only find ONE! and that was in doncaster which is miles away from me. its funny how there are LOADS of trimmers out there but NOBODY teaching it!?
i'd love to do it myself. i can do the dash and the door cards with confidence but i wouldnt dream about doing the seats! lol

so yeah as Popeye said, the top of the range interior for the surf comes out the SSRG model that has the Recaro seats, door cards etc.
i have heard and seen somebody putting Supra seats in the front....but thats just the front. it wouldnt match the rear or the doors so i wouldnt go for that option.

i'm going to tru and fit celica seats in my truck front and rear.I just need to wait till the mrs ain't using hers so i can try them out and see how well they fit

not sure how they will fit the rear but i'm going to have a go anyway to see what they are like for fitting and if i can mod them to fit then i'll buy a celica just for the seats and break the rest.

once i got this other breaker out the way then i am going to clear the garage out and make a start sorting my own truck out for a couple of weeks.If i can get seats to fit i'll definately get pics and a write up of any mods needed to fit them

I have Cobra Daytona front seats but as you say they dont match the rears more comfortable than the standard seats though!

What's the fixation with Recaro seats? They're uncomfy as hell! The normal Surf seats are far better.

I beg to differ sir! the Recaros I've got are superb - drive for miles, feel nicely held in place, no back ache, no leg ache, just nice comfy ride..

I think my standard seats are comfier than Recaros, I always thought that was the general opinion?

That said, I've not driven any real distance on Recaros, so if you think they're comfier than standard seats over distances, I can't argue.

Oh, about the seats, right.....

I presonally prefer them over the standard seats - it's a nice snug fit...not nearly as much rolling about, and I drive 3 hrs a day in them to work and back

If the surf recaros are owt like recaros in a celica i borrowed i aggree with albannach, bl00dy awefull, they had sort of "wings" either side of ya arms and legs which made it difficult for me to get in and out, they were hard and uncomfortable as well (plus the sodding thing come loose on me and i ended up on my back, but that was down to the bloke i borrowed it off, never borrowed it again, soddin dangerious
