Cheers Richard, I had a good internet trawl and saw kits like those.
I was wondering if anyone was fabricating the bracket I would need to fit calipers I could source easily over here, it would need to be a caliper that had the handbrake as well for mot reasons.

Can't remember exactly offhand, as it is a good while since this subject was last discussed, but I'm sure one of the LC setups is nigh on a straight replacement with all gubbins needed. I may be mistaken or hazy on the facts though.

I'm not trying to plug the forum but on www.elite4x4.co.uk there is a guy called MTM.

He seems to fabricate all sorts of gear! He's done a rear axle brake disc conversion! Sent him a pm an he'll probably be able to sort you out with brackets etc.. an info on calipers.

as for a MC.. just check ebay an breakers yards! before coming home an sucking eggs!

Does it have to be on the calipers, or could you use a prop/transmission brake..is that ok for the mot ??

Yes a transmission brake is ok for the mot 'cos that's what mine's got now.

The rear disc set up I've fitted to mine is the one from Front Range Off-Road ( http://frontrangeoffroadfab.com/nfos...ee9a7db34c61ef ) and also includes fully floating drive shafts using modified front pick-up hubs. The kit I originally bought included the hand brake built into the calipers but the hand brake was b... useless so I've now fitted a transmission brake. On that basis it would have been better to go for the other version of the kit which uses early pick-up (non-vented) calipers. The system uses the standard master cylinder, gets rid of the abv on the back axle and adds a manual bias valve in the line to the rear - this takes care of the brake balance issues. If you're not using a fully supported hub (i.e. modifying the existing half shafts) you'll also need some sort of non-return valve to stop the pads being pushed off the caliper because of the end float in the shafts

i just want to make sure that the rear brake system on a LN130 is the same as the KZN130.
