    Thanks again popeye,

do you have a direct link to the right ones, as i can't seem to find them on the goodwills ebay thing...?

Hi mate, i've linked (i hope) the 5mm blue's, they should be fine for what you want, 3mm's you'll need a larger ammount i should think, they do em in packs of 10, 20, 50, 100 & 200, or more so calulate roughly how many you will req, always remember to when checking em to use a resistor, if you connect without the led will flash and burn out in an instant, i know you can connect in series without a resistor but you need to total up the particluar led's forward voltage and add em up to approx 12volts, for example an led with a forward voltage of 3.5 amp will allow 4 of em in series with out a resistor, and the lower you drop the voltage the dimmer they are, thats why i use a 470ohm resistor on each led, (470's are supplied with the leds)
