I'd do an engine conversion. The Solid front axle would be worth the hassle alone!

Not much rock crawling in this country mate. Mud and hills which we drive on 90% of the time requires grip not massive flex mate. Good tyres and a locker well serve you better in this country everytime.

Having said all that you can get some decent flex from an IFS set up

Valid point.. As soon as a locker is fitted, articulation plays second fiddle..

Any chance you could just find a hilux pickup cab to avoid the hassle an mess of hacking a surf to bits?!
