Well said Nev and Matt, i'd apply Albannach's advice here, this bloke obviously dont know his arse from his elbow when it comes to motors so mate! your best bet is to f##k off to a garage and let them sort it, or get rid (read scrap it), if one core's rotted it a good bet the others aint far behind, judgeing by the ammount of water comeing out the drain (clue in the name) hole its a small core gone in the rear of the block, this is a major strip down just to be able to get at it, as you need a decent bit of room to "drift" a new core plug in,

The hole you point at is there for a purpose, don't block it.



Replacing a core plug is a doddle, getting to it is a different matter. Yours is a gearbox out job.

how many plugs are in the block nev ?

Four on the left of block one in rear and two on right that I know of and you probably need to take the engine out to do them. Might be cheaper to source a new engine if corrosion is that bad.

Matt, I didn't edit the thread, someone else did, and yes, you were correct right at the beginning about the problem (surprisingly ) and you wern't that out of order IMHO ( very surprisingly!! ) bringing up the fact this was all in the other thread. lol tony, i started another thread cos i knew this time roughly what i needed to ask, as before i didnt,thought it would attract more core plug minds, the first thread was undivided at what the problem was at the time i made the new thread.
