Triple check all the vacuum hoses are OK and fitted to the right place. That's what was wrong with mine, one had come off but looked OK at a glance.

ive been goi over and over them but cant find any that seem split or misplaced

Same when mine went. Everything looked spot bollock until I pulled them off, then found several which had perished ends and were leaking like sieves.

ive now had them all off and slightly stretched them all the way down to see if any bit opens up cracks where it may have perished but nothing. im really begining to think it may be the actuator (if that what it is) thats controlled by the vacuum as i have plenty of vacuum at that end of the pipe it sticks to my finger as i pull my finger away, but when you conect the vacuum to this actuator it doesnt sound as though it moves or does anything.

It may well be that it is that at fault. It's best to check that last, however, as every other part of the system is easier to check.

I don't want to go over old ground yet again, but mine had enough vacuum to hold the pipe to my finger and to make my brakes work ok, just not enough to move the actuator.

Go over every single pipe in the whole system again, as Matt said, it's easier to check the pipes a few times than it is to check the actuator.

ive been checking again now and still hitting a wall, ive got a hand vacuum pump thingy so im going to put that on the actuator and see what happens if i can find it now

Get underneath, at the back of the transmission where the transfer case meets it, you will see a switch located there, should be pointing out the the passenger side of the truck - take this out, and check that it's working. It may just need a clean rather than replacement - but that's what stopped mine working - been through all the standard 'check the vaccum' routine to no avail, and changed this (after months of checking all sorts of things) and the replacement switch did it!

I think it's shown on the diagram on the Aussie site that you've got the link for, so try that and see if it works.

Wasn't that the one where it used to work where and whenever it pleased? I'd forgotten about that switch.

Im going to look for this switch now and will be spending the rest of the day working on the truck including t-cuting the scratching off my bonnet!
