How do you know the houses are disgusting?

Surely the kittens come from a trusted source and if not then banning them from shops would mean more back street breeding

Not necessarily, breeders need somewhere to sell their products, if there are no outlets there is no demand, if there is no demand, there is no need for a supply.

- has the very serious effect of ensuring that the many thousands of cats and kittens already in rescues up and down the country have less chance of being rehomed.
Just the same as dogs, loads in rescues but folk still breed them.

It's not possible to buy a puppy from a pet shop. THe sale of puppies in pet shops was banned after a similar petition. People don't breed Mongerels though? Mongerels just happen, only pedigree dogs are bred for profit and that breeding, like the breeding of pedigree cats, is regulated.

And just to let you know, I've spoken to our 5 and told them not to go to wee Chris' garden to do their toilets any more. They agreed. So now you don't hate all cats, you can like my 5.
