i thought i had seen as worse as it got, when we did work on a clio 1.1 with a clio V6 body kit.
have you seen how much wider a v6 clio is to a standard one...

If those spacers stay on for long enough without shearing off for it to move anywhere, I'd be damned surprised.

my friend has just sold his mk1 escort, £5000
i sold a mk1 xr2 for £3000 a few years ago, and my friend sold his anglia around the same time.

we used to always be out driving around, twin carbs barking. we all had 1600s bored out, my friends escort had roller bearing rockers though so it completely removes the noise of the tappets and is better performance as the cam / follower pushes the rod upwards at exactly the right angle onto the tappet.
i couldnt justify spending more money!
i did have a series 1 RS turbo diff which was supposed to be better than the series 2...
i wish i had just got a plain diff and welded it up, at least it would have gone in a straight line no matter if a wheel started to loose grip.

good times! 14 seconds on a quarter mile. its the same as my friends slightly modified 5.0 mustang

I've had a few nice escorts in my time.

My first ever car, a gift from my uncle was a 1300 Mk1 Escort. She was a bit untidy but I did a lot of work on her and transformed her over 2 years into a very tidy car.
It's still on the road (painted bright orange now! ###### awful)

                      why do people do that??

my uncles friend had a immaculate white mk2 with a 2.0 pinto, and deep dish style ford steel rims and lowish profile tyres. everything possible was kept factory spec. once he finished it he went to a few shows then sold it.

next thing you know its bright orange, almost illuminous.
