Safari or full length roof bars/rack

Hi all,

Looking for a full length roof rack for carrying timber and camping gear and other items when I don't want to use the trailer. Seen various photo's of peoples custom made ones and modified ones made for other cars/vans.

Can anyone advise me on what one to get?/ Ease of fitting?/ amount of mods needed?/ Cost? any pics of yours would be great to help give me ideas.

I have had a search but didn't find any specific info.

Its for a 94 2nd gen.

You'll find there isn't any specific information becasue we all did it slightly differently. For example I used Audi A80 bars, whereas Bushwhacker (I think) used Peugoet 405 rails.

I got the rails off ebay for £15 delivered , and then hired a frendly mechanic (Tony) to help fitting. This does involve removing the entire roof lining and can be complicated if you have a sunroof.
