  • Help Does anyone have a spare spare??

Just had my tyres checked at local garage and was told that my spare is a different size to the rest of them.
The 4 on the road are 265 70 16" and my spare is a 15" does anyone have a spare spare?? willing to pay of course.
Not very keen on getting a flat and having to change the wheel !!!(do you think it would make that much difference just for a tempory measure?? )

You would be ok for short distances. The overall diamater is virtually the same, your spare being 31", with the rest at approx 30.6".
However the handling charastics would be quite different due to the different sidewall heights. Suggest you treat it as a spacesaver spare would be treated, ie drive with caution, reduce speed, change back as soon as possible.

We found exactly the same thing and asked exactly the same question.....

All replies indicated it's OK to use as a spare, slow speeds, careful driving and replace asap.

And no, you won't drive round in circles...ha ha

The ever elusive jack...... look under your back seat, there should be a flap in the carpet hiding it!

Also have a look for the tool roll, should be in one of the rear cubby holes in the loadbay. If you don't find it you won't have a handle for the jack. The handle fits on the end of the long bar with the hook on it, also under the rear seat.

First time I had a flat I had to raise the jack with a pair of mole grips. Not a lot of fun in the rain on Boxing day I can tell you.

            Cheers

OK toll roll found the jack??? is it right under the seats ie lift up look under?? If so might leave that for another day as it took me ages to get the waterproof seat covers on (really messy kids/dog oh and I'm not the tidiest either )
Does any one know where I could pick up a wheel like my 16" just so they match. Not that I'm vain or anything

We picked up the Zook today and the guy put a wheel on the rear that was about 4" smaller than the others. When we pushed it out onto the road to winch it onto the lorry, one of the wheels was trying to rotate the wrong way. (I think because the smaller one was doing more revs than the larger and the larger one was over compensating) Wouldn't that happen to a lesser extent with tyres a couple of inches out?
                    It's only a hobby!
