Does anyone happen to know what type of temperatures Hammerite can cope with? Would it be okay in contact with the rad?

Think the High Heat version can go up to 600 degree's C. Not sure about the normal one though.

I used ordinary smooth red on most of the engine inc the head and it's still good after a year or so

Sweet. I had visions of it peeling within a week or so. Btw, is it just me, or does anyone else practically lose the will to live after half an hour or so of trying to paint anything other than a flat surface with hammered finish Hammerite? I'm sure the creator of that stuff must have been a closet sadist.
