Cool. I built an RC model based on a Horten flying wing years ago. It flew like a dream too!

From what i have read, bits of it were engineered with stealth in mind, early composites - charcoal dust mixed with glue and wood instead of metal for many surfaces..

That would be amazing, as radar was in its poorly understood infancy back then. More likely they were looking for structural composites that wouldn't flex as much as aluminium, but stumbled on some interesting RF effects. Some of their designs (forward sweep in particular) suffered from an aerodynamic effect called aeroelastic divergence, which very stiff composites would cure.
