Clockwise i think! anyway it should be pushing air into the rad, stick your hand behind the rad while the fans runing (but not the engine)

haven't had mine fitted for about 18 months and haven't missed it . so it cant be very important can itComment

and not having one means that you can clean a lot more of the rad when off roading
