Heading to hospital at 07:30 tomorrow to have my left wrist professionally slashed open Just trying to get enough coffee in me now as can't eat or drink from midnight.

Been having trouble for last few months with numbness and pain in arms and hands. Finally got it diagnosed as carpal tunnel syndrome, doc's have decided it is time to operate and sort out the LH wrist first, as it is the worst of the two, RH will be done later in year I hope.

This means that I now have a working truck, as proved by recent outing to Wales, and I ain't gonna be able to drive the blooming thing for a few weeks, especially off road Any one need a one handed navigator ?

All this happens just as i sort out a couple of routes for the derbyshire area as well. Me and Mrs Growler were looking forward to trying these out over a weekend some time soon as well. Hopefully all should be healed enough for the trip north later in summer though.

Ease off on the post-whoring mate

Best of luck mate. I know someone who had the op a while back and she was right as rain a month later.

                  Cheers guys.

Op went OK and left hand now looks like I'm ready for a boxing match with the size of the dressing they put on it. Been told no driving for at least 2 weeks until stitches come out and then see how things are, but no heavy stuff for at least 4 weeks which will limit any off roading for a while after me thinks

Still all should be good for trip to Skye in august, unless they try to get RH wrist done sooner rather than later. Looks like truck may be going to garage to sort out fan, unless I can convince my eldest lad to get his hands dirty.

Good luck mate had my wrist slashed open a few years ago to glue the tendons to my thumb back together after a hunting knife went through my hand. It works again now but have no feeling in my thumb.

Finally got the stitches out and all seems to be healing well enough. Been told not to work for at least another week or so which means i'm back at it next week, paper pushing only though.

Hopefully the wrist will be strong enough to allow me some fun next weekend at Avalanche and if not might see how the missus does

Andy I hope it all goes well, and let me know when recovered, as I am thinking of setting up a tour of Derbyshire, so we could have a little group....
