.......I know you didn't buy it as it came with your truck, but any ideas what happened to scorpion racing.....or have you come across another receiver hitch type towbar?

or are there any marks on your towbar to identify the manufacturer/supplier?

Thanks Bushy, but I think I was more interested in the american stylee receiver hitch thingy.

The 2inch (or 1.5 inch) square hole that allows for a replaceable hitch or recovery point on.

I know you can get them sent over as just the "tube".....and I do know of a friendly welder......but it would be ideal to get one already made up.

In truth what I think I want is an original US spec Toyota rear receiver hitch (which was a Toyota supplied item on their 4runners)...as this is nice and high at the back, with just the receiver hitch coming out.

....I think I will go back to the drawing board and either make it myself or get a local welder to do it..... I want a towbar........but also a pair of decent recovery points.

....is it feasible to weld recovery points to towbar arms?

I don't see why not, then get some large bow shackles like the one in Joker's photo above.

sorry mate no marks on towbar [sprayed over]towbar was allready on truck from japland [ i think]will look through paperwork i got with truck to make sure

Thanks Joker....I think I am going to get a towbar and then see how I can get a pair of recovery points on each end of the towbar.
