  • Bluepoint?

    Hey,

    Here's one for ya.

Who the fcuk makes blue point tools?

Ive had a look around and as far as i can see they are or were made by snap-on? i do have a mate who used to work for snap-on but i forgot to ask him today, so does any one here know who makes them.

Was looking at buying some ratchets/sockets ect... but pointless going for the snap-on ones when the blue point are as good

    Any Idea's?

    Regards

you dont wanna go buying strap on tools.way to expensive and pointless if your not gonna use them everyday, your just paying for the name.snapon just put their name on a tool and it becomes three times the price of the exact same tool thats branded with say cornwell tools.its a fact.go to halfords and get some of their professional range.they come with a lifetime gaurantee and cost a 3rd the price of strap on.

I use the Halfords professional tools, only had one dodgy ratchet and they do get well used. the boxes they come in could be better but if you are transfering contents to a tool chest then its not a problem.

              LOL

Had this arguement today about Halfruads Professional gear, yes they do have a lifetime warrenty BUT they wont replace them, it all depends on whats broke on it, apparently they are only covered under the warrenty on certin parts of a tool? the like of knuckle joints stuff like that? I was talking to a few mechanic's today and they said they had ratchets and breaker bars snap on them (no pun intened there) they took them back and would replace them?

So snap-on tools have a full lifetime garantee, direct replacment no matter what breaks on them apparently. so you say if your not using them often enough just go for the bluepoint, they are under half the price?

nope dont even go blue point.i have a tool chest full of cornwell,jd,kokem, etc all have a full lifetime guarantee,no matter what breaks and all were a 3rd the price of any strap on or blue point tool of equal spec.if your not a proffesional mechanic and you dont use the tools every day there is no point in paying over the odds for tools,i learnt this lesson decades ago, every thing i had was snap on,until i discovered what a rip off they were.

If it isn't up to the task of what it is being sold for|as, they can't damned well refuse to replace them. Unless a tool has been used for something it was not designed for and been broken that way, they have no choice. If the snot nosed sales chap says otherwise, knee the 'tard in the groin and tell him he is replacing it no matter what his opinion is.

Have I just stepped into a time warp - I swear there was a thread about a year ago with the exact same topic.....weird...

All my stuff came from Surfenvatchtwinkletoes - I knicked it all on a tech weekend, don't tell him though - It's very good stuff, Cornwell you know.....

Actually most of mine is either Draper Pro or Sealy and bought either on the bay or from justoffbase.co.uk

Remember Snap-On don't make tools, they only distribute them! Danaher are the manufacturer.

Unless you're a Professional mechanic, there's no need to buy Snap-On, Blue Point, MAC, Facom, Britool or the likes.

The Halfords Professional stuff is very good and can be replaced or bought 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's
