computer question.

Hi guys "n" girls, need a computer boffin to answer me a quick question.

Ive just got a freebe laptop with my mobile phone contract & its all working fine "on it now" only thing is, the keyboard does'nt light up which is a bit of a pain cos im in bed with the lights on & the misses is wanting to go to sleep.

Anyway, ive looked through all the settings & can't find anything that tells me if it does light up or not, its an ASUS X58L series.

That's the first I've seen that on a Laptop. My old works IBM had a light above the monitor, that was handy.

I may just have to buy one of those clip on light jobies from the £ shop.

I was just about to suggest exactly that. Get one of those little L.E.D jobbies, (either the map lamp or the little twin spot jobbies), and just get a 12V feed to them. One of those 23A batteries like you use for car remotes should power those up for a good while if you want to avoid using a transformer.
