I have finally completed a harp that I've been building for a year and a half now! It will still take me another two to three weeks to bring her to pitch.Thankfully the work is done as I have already been paid It has been the most difficult project I have ever taken on!!!

A wee bit of both really. I am a Macdonald from Skye but my family are from all over the place. part from Islay , Tiree and northern Ireland, Oh nearly forgot Barra

The history of finlaggan and the lordship etc is a kind of hobby. Some great 12th century harp bone tuners found at finlaggan man I'm a sad!

No, not an Ileach, but I have many friends there. Been visiting for years, mostly the Rinns area but I know folk from all over.

I've seen some of the tuners in the Museum at Port Charlotte and years ago at Finlaggan before they tidied it up.

Wiggy on here, Rob Wiggins, is a Portnahaven lad.

Yeah! Wild Scottish cherry for the neck, Poplar for the pillar and willow for the soundbox I had half a large willow tree popped onto a pallet and sent over to me from Antrim. The soundbox has been hollowed out from a single block of green willow like the 16th century original. Sadly I could not find a suitable tree locally.

The courier company could not get the tree into the back of their van when it arrived at the local depo so I had to get myself down to Portree with my chainsaw and cut it up and pop it in the back of the surf
