  • My wee scrap takes shape

Almost finished my wee mud plugger.
I wont bore you with the whole build so here is the last few jobs.
It had it's first outting last weekend at the SMC Bash and ran well. I have a 1.6 vit engine to transplant and hope to do this in the next week or so. This should give excellent weight to bhp figures as it's only around 700kg and the vit pus out close to 100bhp.

    Cage going on

    Roof on

Running gear swapped out front and rear

    Complicated binical and dash started

    Finished

New crossmember in to hold the new munro dampers donated by a mate

    Rear and tray back finished

Nearly there, just some stickers for the weekend to go

Not Surf sized but then it's not the one stuck in this picture

Back from it's first weekend in the mud

Nice work there, that man......that looks very erm....unstoppable!

Why have you got a glass break hammer in it, when the only glass is the small bit in front of you - rather than the expanses of glasslessness all around???
Too old to care, young enough to remember

Reminds me of a shrunken Korean War era jeep. Like it!

          Had hoped for comedy value.

Nice one Yoshie, love it, now i would'nt mind doing a bit of off roading in that as opposed to buggering up my one and only means of transport, tow it there, have fun without worry, tow it home, (and fix it) excellent work mate

Richard I told him last night.
BDT yep mate it is mainly SJ 410, Sammy 413 and Vitara with a few custom parts.

Guys thanks for the comments, I got a good few days help from Kerrsurf so a big thanks to him.
The plan was to try and get a usable toy together for not much money. We had a laugh building it and a bigger laugh driving it. Once the new engine and box goes in it will owe me less than a grand.
Probably over 80hr free labour thou.
                          The wife is away a Med Crusie on Tue with her mates so plenty brownie points going back in the bank So I will run it till after our Sep bash at least, then it may go to make room for a wee winter build. {don't mention it to her in Aug Jess}
