    tiny advice needed. is it stretch bolts on the 3.0 surf and also do u have torque settings for sed bolts/. cheers

    I don't think they are stretch bolts because the head is alloy, but I could be wrong. Always a good idea to replace used head bolts anyway.

      i wasnt sure if they wer but for the sake of 40 quid ish il just get new bad boys anyway... just waitn on my bottom end now. also while im on. when im takn bottom end out the motor . is ther anythn funky i should watch for with regards to seperating from bell housing etc etc etc. cheers

        Nothing out of the ordinary really.
        If it's an auto 'box remove the six bolts holding the torque converter to the flex plate and prise the T/C away from the plate so that it remains on the transmission shaft. saves dicking about later on when you come to join the engine a trans back together.

          cheers dude. had thot of doin V8 conversion but will save that for future project and will tryn find ur other write up on that. and will have a look at brians as it goes along. hes only 4 miles away.
