does anyone know of a good x86 virtual desktop app that i can run in linux and on power pc architecture?

the hardware i am running is an xbox 360, and the OS is ubuntu 7.10
i didnt realise that virtualbox only does 32 and 64 bit x86 CPUs

im going to try QEMU, never used it before, dont think there is a gui

Only used virtualbox so can't comment on what they're like but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compari...rtual_machines lists a number of virtual servers that will run on PPC (mostly proprietary though)

VMWare (and indeed most popular virtualisation products) don't run on PowerPC architechture.

I think Xen will be your only option and it doesn't look straightforward. Check out this wiki page: http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenPPC
