Gday Guys,
Just got back from a trip along the Tanami Track and some of the remote areas of North Western Australia. Loved every moment
3600 kms in 7 days with 2000 plus on corrugated roads really put the old girls suspension to the test and my backside. (felt like id been out for a week with Freddy Mercury and the Village People).
No major problems except I had the battery break its clamp, fly loose and hit the airconditioner compressor.
This resulted in acid spraying everywhere and a rather ugly paintless engine bay.
Was lucky to not have a fire.
Had a second battery fitted in the tray running the engel, so i had a backup battery to get me home.
Are you guys aware of any heavy duty battery cradles / clamps on the market to prevent this from happening again as the stock clamps are a joke.
Any photos, links, ideas would be most appreaciated
What do the competition boys use.
My hilux is a LN106 Ute 2.8 diesel
Cheers Matt
