    Hi chaps,

    Looking at getting a Surf after writing off my MX5. Have seen a few offered locally, got my eye on a 1989 2.4 manual. 60k on the clock, up for £3995.
    Its in great condition, all looks intact, nice and clean and no rust.
    Just a few simple questions for when I go to test drive it;
    Any things to look out for Mechanically and electrically and does it come with a ISO connector as standard for the stereo?
    Oh and its a blue one so its fast!

    check here for some general info http://www.showmesome.info/hilux/info/faq.htm

    The stereo wiring will not have an iso connector unless the po fitted one. You can easily get leads to convert from the standard toyota wiring to the iso standard, or just wire it youself coz its cheaper, check out stereo install and wiring both at the site linked above and at www.installdr.com

        Test drove it last night, not a bad drive but a few issues.....
        1. Lots of noise from the turbo, a proper whining from over 1000 revs. is this normal?
        2. The sunroof was wedged shut with a pen.
        3. Orange light next to turbo on the dash was flickering
        4. No rear seatbelts.
        5. Privacy Glass was in poor condition.

        I think I'll leave that one!

            Going to have a drive of a 1991 V6 3000 tomorrow.
            Its got all the usual extras plus new clutch, shocks, exhaust and cam belt. As its up for 2995 I expect it has a few miles (or Km) under its belt.
