It's time for 'the revolution'. I'm fed up of getting s#8t on by politicians who keep upping their own salalaries, expenses, extra home costs, and then being asked to pay my own dry cleaning bill.
If we have to suffer, they should be prepared to suffer along with the rest of the hard grafting people of this 'Shire', see their pensions erroded, their living standards drop, their future look bleak!
Untill that happens, we're just going to get buried under a pile of financial debt, with no hope for a decent future!!
Sorry, just had to say that!

Forgive me for supporting the Establishment but ......

one of the reasons we're paying more road tax/insurance etc is the number of people who are on the road without any !!!!

Personally if I saw a car being driven without a valid tax disc I'd have no hesitation in reporting the driver cos if they hit my car then I'll be the one who's NCB takes the hit

Life is too important to take seriously !

Sorry i have to agree with swampy, its the government that keeps us poor and the worst thing about it is the people are more powerful than the government, if we just stood up to them and said no more they would have to listen but we dont we just go on trying to pay what they tell us to.

Some of the money we pay too much of, will go to pay for a completely pointless road tax detection van. the whole system is computerised. if Swansea doesn't show a tax disc paid for, or a SORN statement made, then you will get a ticket. the van is pointless. (Unless they finally do something about the thousands of white transit vans all sharing the same number plate and photocopied tax disc.... No names, no pack drill..)

Get someone to walk in front of him so he has to stop, then clamp him for illegal parking. Tell him he cant go until he pays a £200 fixed penalty

However sneaky this is, I agree with nabbing the shoites that think road tax and insurance doesn't apply to them, particularly after Vicki's Micra was written off by a dodgy tw@t with no insurance. When I went to pick her up from the scene of the accident (he'd run a roundabout and hit the side of her) I was in the red mist and was minded to beat him to a ###### pulp. Must have put the fear of god into him cos he gave us £1000 cash and the Micra was only worth about half that.

Still wish I'd shopped him too.

Charlie, we could all make out SORN statements tomorrow and then go for a drive around town. This van I suppose is one of the tools used to put a stop to that.
Reality however, in my view, is that this is simply one of the governments means of control, they use these vans to show the public that theres no escape, that they must comply. Of course they also promote the myth that VED would be so much less expensive if everyone complied and paid up. They want us to think that theres loads of untaxed, uninsured vehicles out here. I dont believe there are, or at least not enough to matter. I think the numbers are low and the additional income generated from 100% compliance would be negligible. Its about control and compliance.
