Oh, OK but if the exhausts of two banks of a V8 are joined via an 'H' pipe configuration or balance tube, the exhaust pulses are equalized from one side to the other because of the scavenging effect, which gives smoother idling (unless you have 'wild' cams in there) and creates a bit more power.
