The car i have now of course. 3rd gen 4runner. Raised, widened, chipped etc etc and getting about 40-50 to gallon including free veg oil. In the good old days, i used to change cars when the ash tray got full. Remember buying a 3 ltr citrion, the one with running boards, (Maigret type) for £15 and finding out at 17 couldn't get insurance on it.
It was the 60's

If I had the space and time - i'd love to get hold of one for a restoration project - 2.8 Brooklands.

My first Corsair, it was a 2 door 1961 I think
1500cc Kent engine, Reg XVG777
It ended up being bored out to 1650cc, 3/4 race Piper cam, competition clutch
Re-worked head by Burton Engineering
Twin Webber 40DCOE carbs
Uprated brakes, discs on the front and a remote mounted servo, (no servo as standard then).
Weller wheels 6-1/2J with Radial tyres!!
Re-sprayed in Ford Aubergine instead of the Goodwood Green I think it was called.
Lowered and stiffened suspension.
Went like Sh*t off a shovel !!!
Well, it did for those days, late 60s

Apart from my current motor i haven't really go a fav, they were all good at the time but if i had to choose one it'd have to be my old cresta, looked good went well and i had me leg over in that more times than any other motor i've had, bench seat says it all, blow on the go!!!Too young to die and too old to give a toss
