Barbara Tyreman, 60, said she could "only watch in horror" as she drove off the edge of the cliff beside her home near Whitby, North Yorkshire.
The grandmother of two accidentally stepped on the car's accelerator pedal as she reached for her seatbelt.
Her £13,000 car, which was ruined in the accident, was eventually brought to a stop by two trees.
"I can't believe I escaped unhurt," said Mrs Tyreman, who lets holiday homes. "It's unbelievable. When I look at the car I just think 'How did I survive without a scratch?'
"It's incredible. Someone was watching over me."
She added: "I was hurtling down the drive and I tried to put the brake on but for some reason I kept hitting the accelerator and just carried straight on.
"My daughter and granddaughter were in a car in front of me and I didn't want to hit them so I turned the car to the left and just flew, literally flew, and went over the cliff edge. It went down for about 100ft and the car came to a halt between two trees."
"I was sat in my car and realised I hadn't banged my head and my legs and arms and everything were still moving and I couldn't believe it."
Firefighters cut Mrs Tyreman from the car. She was airlifted by helicopter to Scarborough Hospital, where she was X-rayed and given blood tests but released later the same day with just a bruise on one of her arms.
"I just don't know how I'm alive, I'm very lucky, my life flashed before my eyes," Mrs Tyreman said. "I'm just happy that I'm here and I've got my family and everything."

I saw this on the news last night and I thought “it is time she gave up driving”!!!! There is no place on our roads for people who get “confused” if even only occasionally.
Mine WAS a 150 bhp V6 and ran on PETROL

Also - the words 'hurtling' and 'drive' should really not feature in the same sentance.....surely she must have thought about moving her foot a little more to the left???? Evidently not...
