  • Lacquer.

The lacquer has blown on the roof of the truck.
What would be the best thing to do? Should I get it resprayed or re-lacquered?
Would this be expensive? Thanks for any help.

yep that wud work too, mine is terrible, last owner used to carry wet surf boards on roof if u go big sticker route,id key the affected area with 800 grit wet and dry then just spray over with spray can laquer just to stop it spreading further

Just get a big enough lift you cant see the roof - job done

The truck will be long dead before it rusts!

Give us a shout if you need a hand. Sus & body are both straightforward.

When i took the wind deflector off mine the other week i had to sand & re laquer, ive done a good job to say it was my first atempt.

Im sure if you took your time & did'nt go too mad with the wet & dry you could get it looking something like, after all it's the roof so you don't really see it.
If its not broke don't fix it.

Did you use a spray can or a spray gun?

Just a can, make sure you mask off properly & cover the rest of the truck with dust sheets or something cos it gets everywhere.

I did find it quite easy though, just don't try & put too much on at a time, 3 or 4 nice even thin coats & you'll have it looking like glass.

Its like anything, the more effort you put in, the better the finish.
