Please read and sign to protect a disappearing part of Britain - our greenlanes


Greenlanes (those country lanes and ancient roads that, though untarmacced are open to all traffic as they have been for centuries) are being closed by local councils, allowing them only footpath status.
These roads are part of our heritage and being open to all traffic allows all users access to beautiful parts of the countryside and keeps the lanes in use and free of obstructions be it stinging nettles or fallen trees.

90% of these lanes in the UK have been closed already with more closing every month never to reopen.

Many people too elderly or disabled to get deep into the countryside use these lanes to have the freedom the rest of us take for granted.

As of 10am this morning 20th March there are 851 signatures.
