Help does anyone know of any reliable shareware file recovery programs online?

My usb stick will not open it comes up with the message;
The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.

Its got all my work on so im worried to say the least!

Let me have your email address (you can PM me or email me through the forum if you don't want it made public) and I'll email you a program. It's only 3mb so shouldn't take long to download if you have broadband. I've retrieved lost data with it a few times. Definately worth a try if you're stuck.

thanks jim its ms151@gre.ac.uk i have managed to retrieve some of the data with a freeware program but it woud be good to have a go with another program as well.

Sometimes it's the memory modules on the USB Stick which can become corrupted!

Can you access it at all?

If you can't then it might be busted!

It would have been a program called ISObuster but it was returned as undeliverable because the keygen contained a virus. I don't understand how this could happen as it was checked for viruses after I downloaded it and it came up clean.

I don't 'slope' off, I exit gracefully. I do sometimes leave the forum to go out for a drink with my wife and friends though! This, unfortunately, makes it difficult to post a quick reply.

Probably an over zealous Firewall, it is an educational facility (Greenwich Uni) you were trying to send it to.
