Guys I have a problem with my truck. Something is draining the battery. Its a brand new Optima but is drained after leaving it for about 2 days. Most of the old loom is chopped out well all that went to the gearbox anyway, and most of the old relays are unplugged. When I turn the ignition off the glow plug light comes on but the relay is'nt even plugged in anymore. Surley that little light could'nt drain an Optima in 2 days? Did you guys get this problem?

check you have wired the alternator and starter circuits correctly.i fitted a battery kill switch on stein,so i wouldnt have that kind of problem.

Ahh we could be on to something there Mark. I only had the main lead connected on the alternator so it was'nt getting excited. Today I connected the other 12v supply and it started charging so maybe that was the problem. And battery kill switch hadn't thought of that. I shall go immediatly to ebay.
          Thanks mate.

odd looking clampin,it detects any electrical draw inside the clamp,so u start at battery and work yr way back, really handy tool,u just keep following to the source of the drain

I wired up a completely new ignition system for mine as it's fuel injected and the ECU needs a constant live feed to keep it's memory.

I would suspect it's what Mark said though, the alternator wiring.
