losing my rag here,im approaching either format that whole thing or put a hammer thru side of it

if you format your hard drive it won't get rid of viruses or trojans.

right finally got hold of my mate the it whizz(computer teacher/deg in artificial intel)going round to him tommorowmhis car is playing up,perfect i said lolol,so off to him tomoz,think we are just gonna upgrade the lot once he sorted viruses

I used to use run AVG, while I never had a trojan, I did have issues so I changed to Avast n no issues in 18 months it's gotta be worth a try ....

i'll try anything at this point lol,i'll let avg do the scan its started first tho,ps ive used avg for 6 years with no probs before,weird

just had an email from a friend, and he got it from his works IT dept. it said NOT to use MSN, or open ANY hotmail email attachtments unless you are 100% sure your antivirus is up to date. It said that there is a right nasty virus doing the rounds at present.......MattF should be able to enlighten us more, if he can be arsed to get out of his coffin this afternoon.

ok ty gwh on a plus side now got it confined back to msn by the look of it,just waiting for my scan to finish,then ill have to try and use msn(im not lookin forward to it)to get email of my password,as i auto log in,so not the faintest wot it is,then remove and reinstall

I got that a few days ago, my Norton antivirus picked it up and killed it, and the Spyzooka programme got anything else passing through, which since I paid for both of them they flippin well should!

mine didnt although im on a scan with it now,2hrs 45 so far,only found 4 trojans,and 27 trackers so far

You ran that programme then?

Block the file transfer ports for Messenger. You can't distribute if those ports are blocked.

sounds like the bugger i had
check to see if system restore is now locked
if it is then its too late if not
it may be worth doing a system restore
if its the same has i had it locked me out after 24 hours of being on my commy
it use's the IEXPLOER.EXE
there should be 1 running for every explorer thats open
if you have an extra 1 then resore before its too late
