I spent most of my weekends down my Uncles which is surrounded by fields! Its all countryside.. So maybe the city meant more because it was something different...
Spent all of my life up until marriage just outside of the 'residential area' living in a house surrounded by fields and such, and I still dislike towns and residential areas.

Possibly. 14 years been living in a housing estate now, and I still can't get used to it. Probably why every available bit of the back garden has had a tree planted.

last Saturday i took the pup to Covent garden, where i had to give a talk. The journey involved Trains, Stopped Escalators which we walked up and down as well as the tube trains. I can tell you that was an interesting day and I'm repeating it Wednesday.
