to those clever at making things

i need to make one of these by the end of april at the latest.
i know you guys are clever at doing & making things so all advice welcome.
what size wood would you use or what size you think is right? i also need to make a seat so who ever in the stocks at the time can be seated.

how much would it cost though as i was going to try get some scrap wood n have a go myself.

Be very sure that the top half slides very easily.
If that falls or gets knocked over with someone in it and the top half stickes they could snap their neck.

yeah thanks m8 i thought on that i was going to see about the top part being on a hinge but thought after i would leave the top bit loose so it just slots in the top part wouldnt be hinged or locked also been thinking of having it so can flatpack it after.

ive been trying to think what size wood to use any ideas m8?

most of it looks like prepeared 4"x2" which comes up at about 3"3/4 x 1"3/4

for the planks in the middle you could use 6" x 1" floorboards. a good timber yard would sort you out. If you get stuck i could make a cutting list for you
