one of the guys on here paid £2.8k for a tidy 3rd gen must be almost a year ago now. Car prices generally have actually come back up a little apparently, bottomed out in november and now nudging back up a little.

For a tidy early 3rd gen now prolly £2.5-£3k is about on the money for a private sale, and £2k-£2.5k at auction. A little more for a 98 onwards model or an intercooled earlier one in very good nick.

Mind you a few jack wolfskin stickers will at least double it's value, believe somone on here does them at good prices

Well, they seem a bit pricey to me, but if they get that for them, good luck I say. Problem with Surfs is that theres no "new" prices and Glass,s guides for dealers so they tend to get made up a bit. The vehicles effectively become worth what people will pay for them. I dont know how many potential buyers check the forums first before diving in but if they do then this of course helps drive prices down. I dont know what effect we on the forum have on the market, but it would be easy to get the impression from visits here that Surfs , although great vehicles, are worthless, because we keep talking values down. How many posts have you seen telling you that early 3rd gens are only worth sixpence, and how a mint , late 2nd gen can be had for threepence ??

look for the LR with gmc 5.7 v8 diesel in it
