    Evening all, my mate Gavin just bought a Surf from ebay, the one on yoshie's bargain thread earlier. He's tried to join as a member but is having trouble posting and has asked me to post this for him

    Hi Guys not finding my way round the forum too well but was hoping for a little insight into me recent purchase.

    On phoning hte guy he says it is smoking and that he has been told it is the valve seals.
    Is this a big problem I have to drive it 60 miles to get it home. Its done 255 000km on the clock.
    Should I be worried ...

    How does someone 60 miles away know what's wrong with the Surf? Look on here for cures, could be the EGR, air filter, injectors, loads of stuff.
