Hi, I have joined the site after gaining a great amount of help in solving a starting problem I had with my 1993 2.4TD Surf. I have had it a few months and was having a increasing trouble starting. Waking family and neighbours early morning. Through reading on the site I changed the glow plugs, using a 12mm long reach plug socket from my Triumph 955i and never worked on a diesel before. I then refitted the strap blowing a couple of 80amp fuses. With the help of my electrian son-in-law we cleaned up the glow plug strap, reinsulated it and made sure nothing was shorting anywhere. We finally tracked down another 80amp fuse at a nearby auto electrians and it started first turn of the key. Thanks to all.
