anyone got any links on how to get rear window out? need to fit tint film and advised to remove glass to do it.... any thoughts/tips cheers kev

I did this one a while ago as i don't like an inanimate object telling me which order to do things in. I didn't do a write up or post any pics as the i just followed the instructions from the aussie site, worked fine. I have left the 'lights on' warning light as i don't mind being reminded when i'm being stupid .

Whilst i was doing this one i also installed a new fusebox in the drivers side footwell and brought permanent live to the window switches in the drivers door, again as per the aussie site. Really like this mod. as i was forever finding the window down after i had turned off the ignition and removed the key. I also have a permanent live feed to the cig. lighter so i can use a solar trickle charger as well as leaving stuff plugged in to charge when away from the truck.

first off ya start like this


i cant bend very well so i went through here


i traced the wire up from the bottom to make sure it was the only white wire with a black stripe


traced it till i knew there was no others that coulour
and found it out ready to cut


then i cut the wire


then i fixed the wire coz it bugged mi truck up
poped the keys in it was still beeping



so it had me going now i dont like to be beat
so
next step 12mm socket on this
drivers side tho


leave the keys in at this piont so you know the button is not getting pushed in


pop the trim back on
and get some of this stuff




just fill the hole (if ya like deep water)




reason it works is
that button needs to be earthed to work
now it no earthed so dont work
or ya can tape it down
well i will post up if i have any problems
other than that its not the white wire with black stripe

So george, cutting the B&W wire did'nt work then.

Sorry George but it did work for me. Could be different in the 3.0 or could be coz i did all the work under the dash near to the fusebox like the pics on the Oz site. Whichever it is it worked fine, been like it for over a year.

yes well it may have been the way i did it thats not right
but i cant bend that far so i make do
its better for me this way all tho i did like my beep
but the times i have drianed the batterys by leaveing the doors open while iam flufing about for hours
well no more coz non of them work with out that one thing being the main earth
so i have no beeping and no lights left on when my doors left open
everything else works
good result realy
