I go on 4 or 5 foreign holidays a year, spend a fortune on good food and booze, got a couple of flats that I could (but don't) rent out, live in a council house, have one new car and a Surf.
I'd much rather be me than himDo you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

once had this for a christmas prezzy
a few years ago when i worked hard has a CD and was fit and well
it went on 2 cars
expolice car cost £150 quid spend loads on fuel in sted good car it was mint got it by a favor
the surf (still driving it)
1 driving hollyday (the whole of the east cost )
gave the wife the rest coz iam nice like that
its not lots on money but its lots of fun
money or fun mmmmm not a hard one for me fun first skint later
but then i read some more of this thread
some one say if this was left in a will to you
me myself take no fun in money left in a will
that in my eye would be spent on ways to remember the person that gave it you
then if there is any change then fine but i would spend it all on that one fact
and nothing else
a bench in town cost just over 2 grand nice to see five of them with the name of some one so kind
or something along that line
i respect the dead very much even if they are no close to me

I wud invest it...
Put a 10% deposit on a 80k house,
have a (in the current climate) £170 a month mortgage on it and then rent it for £450-ish a month... and keep struggling as is...
Then when the economic climate gets better take the equity out of the house and buy another one....
oh yes and use the remaining 2k to put towards the ....
savings account....One day at the time I guess..

I have seen a couple of houses one a 3 bed go at auction for £30,000 another £38,000 both repos one in wales the other i think was yorkshire somewhere.
I looked into getting a small morgage this week to buy some land as all the good land was about £20,000 more than i have i the bank. No problem I thought, got well in excess of 50% up front should just be a case of signing the paperwork.
Nope the minimun yes minimum i can get on decent terms is £50.000 but I only want £20,000 for £20,000 it a rediculas rate of about 8% compared to 5% for a bigger morgage.
its madness! If it can be broken it can be fixed

a house down the road from me went for 54k, rents out for about £500+ a month,
A 3 bed bungalow went not far from here in a good area 84k with a rental potential of about £625 a month....
Nice returns that....
