Excuse me for butting in, but, having had quite a bit to do with this sort of thing, you also need to consider the leverage the winch will impose on the front of the chassis. If you winch cable is one ft above the centre of the chassis rails it will impose a load of (and yes, I know this is very approximate) 8900 lb ft for a 4 ton winch, this equals one very bent chassis on a good pull. Hence a good winch mount will spread the load along a large area.

That's one of the reasons, there are others.

stein and neil from outrageous both explained to me that it was advisable to get the winch between the chassis rails and not to high/low.......
          Non intercooled nothing.

nice job, but OMG how high lol. thats so going to rip your bumper off. unless you have attached it to the chassis. but i still think your lose that bumper.

            should be lower like this.

They're both correct. You've got to admit though, even if it is in the wrong place, it does look good stuck out the front up high.

the lower mounts are through the chassis. through original bolt holes already there. and secure. the top mounts were >> bumper off reinforce plates onto front cross member to chassis. then plates behind bumper chrome itself. then bumper secured. also when i did body lift id to make brackets for bumper so they have extra bolts also. the welds wont break. and yeh its a tad high. but it was my 1st attempt. and if i get bogged up to bumper im no diggin for winch hook. and hey the worst that can happen is the fekr flies off and goes through the windscreen of my mates disco. haha haha haha. i will take all this on board and maybe fabricate something a wee tad lower.

Not slagging it off, just saying keep your eyes on it and don't let it do irreparable damage to your motor.
It's not so much how it's fastened on as I can't see that, it's just the distance and angle in relation to the chassis rails, just don't want you to wreck anything.
