I have a Honda trx 4x4 with 24" tyres on the rear and 23" on the front (standard size). What I want to know is can I put 25" front and rear or will this break any diffs or gearing. It is permanent 4 wheel drive.
Steve.
The fact that it carries different sized tyres front and rear may suggest that it has some form of central diff or viscous coupling to eliminate any wind-up caused by the tyres turning at different speeds. If that is the case, then doing what you're suggesting should be possible but it may well upset the steering geometry and have an adverse effect on the overall handling. Caution is the word until you know definately that its possible without side affects.
