I have been busy today, I finally got round to fitting my snorkel that I cobbled together a few months ago.
From the top down its a Southdown 4x4 head for a Defender that I modified to suit the angle of the Surf. Then its simply some downpipe and a 45 degree bend, then some 2.5" bore flexible hose then onto the airbox which I welded a bit of exhaust pipe to to change the inlet angle. The bracket holding it I made myself and screwed to the A pillar.
I had to cut a surprisingly large amount of the inner wing strengthening away to get the clearance needed, and the hole in the outer wing is pretty big too. Lots of grinding, checking, grinding, checking etc.
Anyway, pics and a 1000 words and all that...
