First post, so if its in the wrong section or I make a complete hash of it, show some compassion and take the micky gently.....

I do quite a bit of wildlife and countryside photography, the old Honda Accord was not much use for fields, lanes and woods, so my thoughts turned to a 4x4. Not a computer controlled wallet emptier like some of the newer ones.I had previously owned a 2.4 Surf..(the cylinder head did not blow)....but wanted a manual and a 3.0litre. So after a bit of a search I found this old lass, mileage is up at 150,000 ish and she has a small rumble between 50 and 60 mph, but she is ideal for what I want, doesn`t matter too much when thorn trees scratch her old paint nor if I get in full of mud and wet through. So far she has been great, that rumble is a concern though.Greased the prop UJ`s,changed the gear box oil and regreased the outer halfshaft uj`s..........anyone any idea as to what it may be?

      welcome to the nut-house buddy...

...just watch out for the squirrel.

As far as the rumble's concerned my first thoughts would be along the lines of tracking or balancing being slightly out, maybe a wheels thrown a weight or something?

Thanks for the welcome fellas. She ain`t clean anymore, that is for sure.

The rumble was down to the wheel bearings having been replaced recently and not tightened up enough, rumble now gone.

Thanks for moving the thread to the correct place.

Well, had it a couple of months now.Got the inverters hard wired into the back for my laptop and printer, gave her a thorough steam clean and sprayed a ruck of waxoil onto her ageing underside.Front wing is doing the norm, rusting merrily away to itself, there are a few other rust blemishes but nothing too bad.

The rad blew and needed sorting, radweld was not gonna fix this..........Anyway,took old rad off, simple job really, and got it recored at the local rad place. Not lost a drop of water since.Oil level has not changed since I changed it when I got the car.The rumble is still there, though nowhere near as bad,a job for the spring. She has road tyres on so is not too good off road, though I have not got stuck yet, been close, but never stuck.I`ll run the road tyres over the summer and get some 50/50`s for the winter.

As mentioned, I do a lot of wildlife photography which takes me all over the countryside,as of yet, the old girl has been superb, bit thirsty, but I knew that when I bought it.

                          Cheers.
