Hi, I pick up my 95 3.0 Surf on Sat and will use it to tow my caravan.

Does anyone know whether the position of the spare wheel causes any probs with the drawbar of the caravan.

Also, does anyone know the kerbweight of the 3.0

    Cheers

It can do dependent on your hitch - I have an Alko 3004 and normally swing the wheel out to hitch up (Note that I AVOID trying to hitch up with the van to the right of the car !)

No idea of the precise kerbweight but I believe it's in the region of 2000kg - I tow a 1500kg Bailey with no problem at all

Life is too important to take seriously !

Thanks for the replies. I picked it up today and it is rather more comfortable than my old discovery. I've not towed yet but I have a caravan with maximum weight of 1500 kg. I'm hoping it will be as sure footed as the disco was.

You could put the spare in the caravan if it's in the way.
