poor stein is poorly
the auto box has let go and wont go into any forward gear ( i knew when i got it off mark that there was a problem with the box so was expected)
so now i need to find a borg warner box, a gm180 or the parts to convert to a manual box

oh well , i had just done a bit of paintwork on it aswell lol

i was speaking to someone the other day and they recon the overall length of the gm and borg warner boxes are the same , so im just gonna see what i can get and if i have to get the prop modified ill take it to proptech up the road,

the gm unit is an inch longer,you might get away with it by taking it up on the splines,but i cant remember what tolerances i built the prop too.

So it won't select any forward gears but it does reverse?

goes from park into reverse fine , and reverse to N fine , but weather you put it in D 1 2 or 3 , theres nothing there, a slight crunching type noise occasionally, but no drive

Are you/Mark sure it's not the torque converter? Strange that all forward gears have gone but not reverse, as they're all controlled by the valve body inside the transmission.

well its a weird one,
the gears seem to be fine, its gear selection thats the problem
i locked the kickdown cable open today and it will go striaght into first gear fine but obviously wont change change gear after that , but at least i can move it/drive it with one gear at the moment
i think the box might just need a damn good service, so my mate is going to have a look at it asap
