  • Newbie saying hello

    Hi all,

I was directed to this fine forum by my brother who used to have a Surf 2.4TD. I am currently on the lookout for a nice Surf 3.0TD. I own a Saab 9-5 2.3T HOT Aero estate at the moment which I will have to sell unless somebody would like a swap.

Happy to be here and looking forward to a long stay on the forum.

    Ross

Hi Ross, welcome to the asylum - just remember that some of the guys in the white coats are inmates not staff !

Did a few months in Catterick in the late 80's

Life is too important to take seriously !

          Thanks

I was trying to get a reasonable insurance quote for a Surf, an exercise in futility, almost. Got one for £355 with Adrian Flux, fully comp and protected no claims, seems reasonable.

Many thanks Bob. I am currently an inmate of the thoroughly delightful place that is Bourlon Barracks. I did my training here in 1997 and the difference now is unbelieveable, you wouldn't recognise it.

I will apologise in advance for the Yeti (biohazard), it's almost housetrained, just don't get downwind

Thanks for all the kind comments

I'm now the proud owner of a '94 Surf SSRV Limited 3.0TD

Its Green over Silver and has covered a paltry 65000 miles with good history. Runs great with no overheating and looks pretty nice too. I think it may have belonged to a forum member in the past as it has been very well cared for. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

                      Thanks again,

                      Ross

Well, slightly later than planned, here are the pics. Gave her an oil and filter change today along with new air filter, fuel filter and I replaced the Auto transmission fluid that was in the drain pan. It was still quite pink so I saw no point in draining the whole system.

As I said before, I am pretty sure this has been a forum member's truck in the past.

                          Hope you like:
