  • how much will a conservatory cost?

My wife is banging on at me to get a conservatory, but i've no clue at all what it'll cost me.

looking at about 3mx3m, probably with a dwarf wall.

any clues of a ball park?

bit reluctant to ring a company as i garuntee they'll come round and try to push me into whatever they've got anyway and i don't want that, just an idea of cost.

i do also have the option of doin all the ground work myself (father being a farmer and built many buildings, plus i work for the housing trust and good mates with alot of brickies and plasterers etc, and i'm nearly qualified as an electrician, so i'll do that bit if need be), but if it ain't gonna save me alot of money i can't be bothered witht he extra hassle tbh.

    any one had one recently?

    cheers,

    Martin

PS. on a different note what oil do i need to buy? gonna service the truck over christmas

You could try asking Bobafatass for a quote, he does conservatories

As for the oil you will need around 8 litres of semi synthetic

Oddly popped into my local dealer and they were selling Toyota semi synthetic for £14 for 5 liters.

I had just paid £18 for A1 semi synthetic at the local cheap place

Sat now in my new conny, 3m x3m, dwarf wall, did it all myself and cost 5k, it would have been cheaper but we dicided to get panes of glass with blinds built in, this added cost but was well worth it, not cheap i know but i know all the work was done right and to a high standard without trying toblow my own trumpet

                  blow away my freind!!

how easy was it? i'm not daft and can turn my hand to concreting etc, plus as i said knowing some builders etc wil surely help.

any clue as to how much the fancy windows added to the price? i don't think we want them as it's gonna be east facing, so shouldn't cause too much roasting in the summer.

also who did you use to supply it etc?

cheers for all the info, the more the merrier!

                      Conservatory..Roughtrax Hamper.

Bit of advice.....I had one fitted two years ago cost me £12.500 and from the offset had issues with leaks crap workmanship poor quality products you name it. I've taken him to court I won the case he goes bankrupt I'm in the crap. As it stands now I have been listed as one of his creditors, he has some shares and my only hope is that I can get some cash back from him that way. One thing that I have learnt from this is that if I paid with my credit card they would stand by the purchase, bit late for me now but something to bear in mind you guys, if only I had known that at the time.

Anyway anybody on here won the Roughtrax Christmas hamper? I won it last year ,but when it arrived all bottles jars were smashed and everything else covered in red wine. I signed it as damaged but still never got replaced!! just my luck it seems

Thats bad luck Dave, i hate it when shysters walk away from their f##kups virtually scott free, pity abaout the roughtrax hamper too, never even knew they did one, did you not phone him and explain what happend'? i expect the tin of ox tounges was ok tho, those hampers always have crap like that in em

I cant help with your conservatory question, and pointing out that I actually dislike them and think they are a blight on our fair land is probably less than helpful. On another subject however, what happened to the 18, or was it 20 yr old MacAllan that you were bottling and were then going to sell to us dead cheap ??

its has indeed been bottled, but not for dead cheap sadly (thanks mostly to hmrc!!!!!!!).

my fatheras aim is to make back the money he has spent and keep a few bottles for himself.

For that reason each 20 year old cask strength (55.4%) bottle of macallan whisky can be yours for £50 each. hurry as we only have about 250 left!

                            cheers,

                            Martin

PS. i'd rather extend the house than build a conservatory. but funds won't allow, but we do need another room at least for when the wife decides to get preganant

Dont get one supplied or fitted by a company unless you know someone who already used them!
There is such a big variety of conservatories you really need to find people in your area who are genuinely happy with thiers!
                              Best of luck!!
