Measures to protect children with nut allergies are becoming increasingly absurd and hysterical, say experts.

A peanut on the floor of a US school bus recently led to evacuation and decontamination for fear it might have affected the 10-year-old passengers.

But common sense (something lacking it seems) says if you're allergic to peanuts, then you'll step over it!

My only experience with a people with problems with nuts was a guy I used to know who drank in my local. His nickname was Peanut Butter. He had a hole in the roof of his mouth and he had this really annoying habit of sucking peanuts up his nose and then spitting them out his mouth. (usually into someone's pint.)

This one day someone bet him £5 that he couldn't do it with a brazil nut.

Anyway half way through this performance it got stuck after minutes of making a noise like a goose farting in the fog and flapping like a headless chicken he managed to dislodge it. I think he blacked out a couple of times during the attempt as well.

I tell you to this day it was the best fiver I have ever spent.

Nut allergies, what a load of b******s!

Wasn't heard of when I was a kid. Well I never knew anyone who had it anyway, and I went to two schools full of kids.

Perhaps the ones with the nut allergies didn't survive long enough to get to school ........

I think the incidence of allergies generally has increased over recent years but fortunately none of my kids seem to have any

My son has severe nut allergies and I can assure you it is NOT a load of ########!

We have to carry Adrenaline injections around with us EVERYWHERE he goes.

One molecule of a nut or any of the other 6 or so substances he is allergic to and he could die!

Just stop and ###### think about it for a minute and try to imagine if it was your child how hard life would be!

If a classmate in his class ate a nut at home and came into school the next day and kissed my son on the hand it could be fatal.

As usual on here we get the smart arses who don't actually know anything about a subject but are prepared to gob off about it just for the sake of a giggle or two.

That was quite a highly articulate rant mate and I sympathise with your terrible predicament, any life threatening illness regarding your child is highly distressing. Thing is your hypocritcal remark at the end regarding people who have kids with Downs Syndrome.
