I have a head full of valve etc you can have, if the head itself is OK, (Cos mines cracked) I've swapped a 2.4 head before but no idea on swapping valves about.

Thanks mate but i do think the best thing for me to do is just to cut and run. It seems to be one thing after another lately and i do have to be sensible.

She had been loosing power all day untill she finally broke down on us this afternoon. Managed to get her home and asked my neighbor who is a mechanic to have a look at it and he came down and said a valve has dropped in it.

Ask him exactly what he means when he says it has 'dropped a valve' and how he diagnosed it. It may be something simple, your mate may just have mis-diagnosed the problem.
